Ygia Polyclinc and Frido Technologies announce the successful installation of Frido Protech 2 units at Ygia Polyclinic in Limassol, Cyprus
Ygia Polyclinic is the first hospital in the Eastern Mediterranean to introduce this innovative 222nm Far-UVC technology as part of its ongoing commitment to patient safety, staff wellbeing, and infection-resilience measures.
Protech 2 units have been installed as part of a Quality Improvement program in the following areas:
Emergency Department – Short Stay Observation Area
One unit has been installed in the Emergency Department’s Short Stay Observation Area, which accommodates both adult and paediatric patients.
Operating Theatre 6
A second unit has been installed in Operating Theatre 6, where abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures are carried out. The evaluation will monitor surgical-site infections, infection-related readmissions and post-operative follow-up, compared with existing clinical data.
We would like to thank the Ygia Polyclinic team and all those involved in planning, coordinating, and delivering this important installation. Their commitment to exploring new technologies and strengthening infection-control measures has made this project possible.
The installation of Frido Protech 2 units reflects Ygia Polyclinic’s forward-looking approach to infection prevention, staff wellbeing and the evaluation of emerging technologies that may support safer healthcare environments.
